Okay guys! I have some old Macs that I just can't keep anymore. I thought I'd give you guys first crack at 'em before I go to Craigslist. Prices don't include shipping, I'm willing to haggle with most of it, too. If you want something, make me an offer!

First up on the chopping block is a blue G3 300MHz. She's got 256MB of RAM, the stock 6GB hard disk, and a second HD, I think it's a 40GB. Everything is in perfect working order, but the case has seen better days. The handles are missing, one side of it is cracked, and it's got numerous scuffs and scratches.

10.2 is installed with Appleworks 6 and all the early 2000s pre-installed goodies. If you really want, I can put 10.3.9 on it. If you have enough RAM to shove in there, it'll pull El Tigre around pretty good, too. Make an offer.

I have a clamshell iBook for parts. Dead HD, broken LCD, no power supply. Make an offer.

Next up is a G3 800 iBook with a fritzed logic board. I have a factory replacement logic board for it. $50 firm. No idea what's on the hard disk, it wasn't mine.

I've got some other junk, too. A couple of old PCs that could be junked out. One of them is a Pentium-D 3.0GHz box... $85 for it. The others are ancient. A Celery 633 and a P2 300. If you want something for target practice, they'll be great.

I'll be interested to see if you get any takers as I'm in a similar position with two even older Macs. Too good to take to the council tip, one might even say collector's items, yet obsolete and taking valuable space. My, weren't those old Macs bulky, large and heavy for their (at the time, state of the art) processing power.

Definitely they are! That G3 and the 6500 are tanks!

I was thinking of even earlier models. I have an old 7500 and a 8600/200 filling up a spare room.

Both are nice old boxes! The 8600 especially!

In it's day I thought that my new 8600/200 was brilliant. A lot faster than my Mac at work (Quadra?) and came with an enhanced OS, so for a while computing was better at home than at work.
The 8600 was the first Mac I actually bought with my own money, which was a big investment at the time and I'm still reluctant to scrap it.

Good God. I had a Blue G3 too. Bought it a while back. Broke the next day. I wouldn't buy another! I'd like an iMac G3. . . . .

Did a little research the other day. My two old machines (7500 & 8600/200) are worth less on the open market than the cost of shipping. So they are edging closer and closer to the council waste disposal centre.

So sad but I really need to clear out my spare room.
