Funny how Apple talks about being so green, yet getting rid of the whole iPad just for the battery is quite wasteful. Maybe the replace the battery and be on the marry way. But why can't Apple just send you a battery like they did with the iBook G4 battery program?

You'd think it would be less hassle on Apple's part to make it user-changeable.
One wouldn't think of sending a portable radio, camera etc. or even your car back to the manufacturer just to have the battery changed.

I keep a spare re-chargeable lithium battery with my digital camera to extend the amount I can do in one day and it's a matter of seconds to swap batteries over, even in a damp field, 'cos it's designed that way.

I was almost tempted to join that group to remind those in the thread discussing how to hold an iPad - that the device only lands face down on the ground if it has been buttered, like a slice of toast.

So .... now you know how to do it. Batteries look (relatively) easy to replace and if Apple had given the case slightly more thought .... Oh well !

I went to the campus book store about 20 minutes ago. The models for sale are ready to be sold (I held the shrink-wrapped box) but the display units, which were what I came for, were still being set up.

I was told to come back tomorrow. And so I shall. Smile
