What does the full Mac GUI membership include? Mac GUI is the premiere destination for Mac users simply because we offer the greatest number of convenient tools and services for Mac users-- completely free!
Mac GUI comes with 1 gigabyte (GB) of email storage and 200 megabytes of WebDisk storage, for posting files or web sites on the Internet.
Mac GUI eMail works with existing email clients such as Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, and Mac OS X Mail. Mac GUI Members may enjoy email access from anywhere around the world with integrated webmail. Or, if you prefer desktop access, POP3 comes standard.
Use Mac GUI Address Book to store and retrieve email addresses and other contact information. The contact information in Mac GUI Address Book is stored on the web, so you can look up email addresses whenever you use Mac GUI Mail.
If you want to have your own home page or store files, you may do so using the Mac GUI WebDisk. WebDisk comes loaded with 200 MB of storage and easy FTP access.
iCal, Apple's calendar application, lets you create work, personal, and group calendars. With a Mac GUI membership, you can publish your iCal calendars over the Internet so others can view them.
You can send eCards of your favorite Gallery photos. eCards are electronic postcards that look and act like the real thing, except for they land in the recipient's email inbox.
If you like to take lots of pictures and share them with others, Mac GUI can make that easy! The Mac GUI Gallery was designed with just that in mind and everyone gets a generous 400 MB of storage with which to upload his or her photos. Back to top |

If my Mac GUI account expires, what happens to my data? If your Mac GUI account expires, any web pages, files you have backed up to or stored in the WebDisk, messages left on the email server, contact information stored in Address Book, and websites saved in Bookmarks will be removed. How do I preserve my data prior to the closure of my Mac GUI account? WebDisk
Open your WebDisk and drag all your files to your own hard disk.
Email
If you're using IMAP, open your email client and create a local mailbox. Drag email you want to keep from your Mac GUI mailboxes to the local mailbox. For more detailed information on this topic, please see the Email Help section. If you're using POP, your messages are already stored on your local machine.

Inform your contacts of your new email address if you have one. Any message sent to your Mac GUI Mail address after the account expiration date will bounce back to the sender.

If you stored contact information in your Mac GUI Address Book online, you must synchronize this data with the Mac OS X Address Book on your desktop. Your most up-to-date addresses and phone numbers will be saved on your Mac manually ony if you do that.

How and when should I report content? If ever you should encounter objectionable content, simply locate the nearest report link to notify the Mac GUI City Moderators about it. Providing you have filled out an accurate report and the content does not belong, then appropriate action shall be taken. Take care not to file too many inaccurate reports; it will lead to trouble for you. Back to top |

What to do when someone's breaking the rules We encourage you to speak out when you're offended or when you believe someone is breaking the rules for Mac GUI City. In most of the important ways, you are Mac GUI City, so if something bothers you in one of the conference or discussion areas, speak up.
However, if you've voiced your concerns and nothing is changing, or you simply don't feel comfortable telling someone else how you feel, help is just a quick email or PM away.
You can, at any time, send a Private Message (PM) to Dog Cow, or any other online administrator or Mac GUI Moderator. Someone will come online to see what can be done to help. Whenever possible, copy the text of the problematic message or conference and paste it into an e-mail message to mgc@macgui.com The more information you give, the more quickly someone can assess the situation.
